These Terms of Service govern your use of AutoStock, a dealership management application for South African motor dealers. AutoStock is supplied by GC Independent, a South African business ("we", "us", "our").
By subscribing to or using AutoStock you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not subscribe to or use the software.
AutoStock is a Microsoft Windows application that you install on your own computer. It provides stock management, vehicle and sundry invoicing, reconditioning costs and job cards, debtors, 2nd gross, Offer to Purchase documents, the Second-Hand Goods Act acquisition register and related reports.
Your records are stored on your computer, not on our servers. We hold a copy of your data only when you use the cloud backup feature, and only for the purpose of restoring it to you.
AutoStock requires an internet connection to verify your subscription and to back up. Day-to-day work, including capturing stock, invoicing and printing, does not require a connection.

AutoStock costs R2 500 per month, inclusive of VAT where applicable. One subscription covers one dealership. There are no modules, optional extras or per-user charges: every feature described on our website is included in that price.
We never see or store your card details. Those are held by PayFast.
You may cancel at any time from your PayFast account. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-months.
If a monthly payment does not go through, AutoStock continues to work for a further five days while you sort it out. After that the software locks and shows a payment screen until payment is received.
Nothing is deleted when an account locks. Your stock, invoices and client records remain on your computer exactly as they were, you can still export everything, and full access returns as soon as payment goes through.
You own everything you enter into AutoStock, including your vehicle records, client details, invoices and business information.

Cloud backup is included in your subscription. When you back up, an encrypted copy of your database is stored so that it can be restored to any computer you sign in on.
Backups run when you choose to run them. AutoStock does not back up automatically in the background. Keeping a current backup is your responsibility, and we recommend running one at the end of each trading day.
You agree to use AutoStock only for lawful business purposes. You must not:
Breaching this section may result in suspension or termination without refund.
AutoStock is a record-keeping tool, not professional advice. It does not provide legal, accounting or tax advice. The VAT calculations, the Second-Hand Goods Act register and every other report it produces are based entirely on what you capture.
You remain responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for the correctness of what you submit to SARS or any authority, and for meeting your own statutory obligations. Consult your accountant or attorney for advice on your specific circumstances.
Because AutoStock runs on your own computer, it keeps working whether or not our systems are available. Our online services, meaning the licence check, cloud backup and subscription pages, are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and may be interrupted for maintenance or by events outside our control.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where it applies to you.
The AutoStock software, its design, code and documentation remain our property and are protected by South African copyright law. Your subscription grants you a licence to use the software, not ownership of it. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or reverse-engineer it.
The AutoStock name and logo are our trade marks. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our written consent.
You may stop using AutoStock and cancel your subscription at any time.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, is used unlawfully, or where payment has not been received after the grace period. Where we terminate an account for a reason other than a breach by you, we will refund any unused portion of the period you have paid for.
If your subscription ends for any reason, your records stay on your computer and remain exportable. We do not delete or withhold them.
We may update these terms from time to time. Where a change materially affects your rights we will email registered users at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of AutoStock after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
